Frequently asked questions.
No. Unmarkdown is a publishing and formatting layer, not a vault manager. You can use both: write in Obsidian, publish and export with Unmarkdown. The Obsidian plugin lets you copy notes directly from your vault.
Yes. Unmarkdown uses the same [[Title]] and [[Title|Display]] syntax. Autocomplete triggers on [[ with fuzzy search. When you rename a document, all wikilinks pointing to it update automatically.
Unmarkdown offers a 2D force-directed graph (free) and a 3D graph (Pro). The graph shows all documents as nodes and wikilinks as connections, with folder-based clustering. It is a visualization tool, not a navigation paradigm. Obsidian's graph plugin ecosystem is more mature.
You can drag and drop .md files into the Unmarkdown sidebar to import them. Wikilinks in your imported files will resolve once the linked documents also exist in your Unmarkdown workspace.
Both are $8/month. Obsidian Publish gives you a hosted site with your vault content. Unmarkdown Pro gives you publishing plus 62 templates, 6 paste destinations, AI editing, document intelligence, REST API, and analytics.
